American Express is inviting applications for the role of Data Testing Analyst II as part of its Regulatory Reporting Automation Program. In this role, you’ll work closely with Business Specialists and Product Owners to deliver automated regulatory reports by gathering, analyzing, and testing financial data. You'll be a key contributor to ensuring that business and regulatory requirements are accurately reflected in technology solutions. This role blends technical understanding with financial knowledge, offering a comprehensive development path.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Analyze and understand current data processes to support future-state regulatory reporting
• Help define the scope of data required across various portfolios
• Provide clarity on regulatory reporting rules and data scenarios
• Assist in documentation of functional designs, requirement documents, and data flow
• Partner with multiple internal teams to implement, test, and validate data pipelines and regulatory solutions
• Contribute to the development of testing strategies, including automation techniques
• Support master and reference data integration efforts

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in SQL and data analysis
• Hands-on knowledge of financial data platforms (ODS, AxiomSL, OFSAA, Hadoop)
• Experience with data profiling, data mapping, SOR analysis, and data quality rule implementation
• Skilled in MS Excel and Power Query for analytical tasks
• Experience in designing and executing testing strategies (manual or automated)
• Exposure to data warehousing principles and financial systems is a plus
• Familiarity with Agile development methodology
• Strong communication skills—both verbal and written
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
• Comfortable working cross-functionally across business, finance, and tech teams
